Rules & Regulations
UGENYA HIGH SCHOOL rules and regulations reflect the School’s expectations in terms of acceptable standard of behavior and personal presentation of the students in the widest sense. Students are expected to follow the school rules at all times and set themselves a high standard of behavior both inside and outside the school These rules aim at protecting students, enable the school to operate peacefully, and enable students to co-exist with each other, and enhance academic excellence and spiritual well- being.
Theft
This is a vice that has no place in any institution. Any student involved in stealing property of other students will be punished

- Summoning the parent
- Suspension for less than two weeks
- Buy two-fold of the stolen property
Fighting & Bullying
Students MUST handle fellow students and the wider public with courtesy, respect and dignity at all times. Fighting and bullying is a vice which has no space in Ugenya High School.
CONSEQUENCE
- Summoning the parent
- Pay medical cost in case of injury
- Recommendation to the Board of Management for possible exclusion.
Examination malpractice
Each student is expected to have high standard of integrity during examination. Examination malpractices include but not limited to:
o Collusion
o Assisting one another
o Use of unauthorized material
CONSEQUENCE
- Summoning the parent
- Resist special exam
LESSONS, ASSIGNMENTS, TESTS AND OTHER OFFICIAL PROGRAMS
All students MUST attend all the lessons, do ALL assignments and examinations given by teachers.
CONSEQUENCE
- Do community work
NOISE MAKING.
Calmness MUST reign supreme amongst students during day and night. The vice includes:
- Shouting
- Whistling
- Booing
- Murmuring intended to disturb peace
- Community work
- Collusion
- Assisting one another
- Use of unauthorized material
- Summoning the parent
- Resist special exam
- Buying a pace setter
- Reading and making a summary of the pace setter bought
- Leaving school without permission chit.
- Speaking to passers-by over the fence.
- Proceeds to a place contrary to what is indicated in the leave out chit.

VENACULAR SPEAKING.
All students are expected to communicate in either English and Kiswahili at all times.

SNEAKING IN AND OUT OF SCHOOL
Any student who leaves the school compound must have a leave-out chit duly signed by class teacher/duty teacher/ Boarding/senior teacher/Deputy Principal/Principal.
Sneaking involves but not limited to:
Only students permitted to go home or admitted in the hospital are allowed to spend outside the school.
Students going out must register at the gate and surrender the leave-out chit on return.

RESPECT TO AUTHORITY
Students must respect student governing council, workers, support staff, teachers, school administrators and education officers.
CONSEQUENCE
SUNDAY CHURCH SERVICE.
This is compulsory to all students and all must maintain order during prayer service and must be in FULL SCHOOL UNIFORM. Those who do not observe these will do community work.
DRUG AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE.
This is highly prohibited in a school environment & Ugenya High School is a DRUG FREE ZONE(DFZ).
Students are not expected to abuse drugs in or out of school.

BEING IN DORMITORY SECTION DURING CLASS OR CHURCH SERVICE TIME.
The boarding section is out of bounds during class, church service and preps time.
CONSEQUENCE
VANDALISM OF SCHOOL PROPERTY
Students must take care of school property and more so be responsible for those under their charge eg, lockers, chairs, beds, books, walls, sport facilities and equipment.
Student will pay for damage or loss of property under his care.
SCHOOL UNIFORM /DRESSING AND HYGIENE
All students must be smartly dressed in complete school uniform at all times.
Being neat includes but not limited to:

FORGERY OF OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS.
Any student who impersonates, in possession of forged school document or a school rubber stamp will be:
UNWANTED GADGETS AND MATERIALS
The following items are prohibited from school but not limited to:

LOITTERING IN MARKET CENTRES.
Students are expected to be destined to authorized places by the parents or school authority.
They should go straight to where they have been sent when neatly dressed.
Any student found wandering about in market centers will be
SPORTS/GAMES/CLUBS.
All students shall take part in sports & games unless they have a government medical certificate advising otherwise.
All students are encouraged to be a member of at least one club and participate in it. Idlers will do community work.
COMMUNITY WORK.
General cleaning must be conducted to keep the school clean and tidy.
Cleanliness MUST be maintained in classrooms and dormitories.
This is compulsory for all students. Involving in community work teaches one responsibility.
CONSEQUENCE
VISITATION
Visiting of students during school hours is highly discouraged. Students must only talk to visitors within the compound and with permission of teachers.
Any student who contravenes this will do community work.
B:
Only parents or Guardians on our records to come for visitation.
Parents to visit dependants ones a term(Term one and Term Two) on a date that will always be communicated.
Visitors shall not be taken to hostels or classrooms.
No visiting in Third Term
SCHOOL MEAL/DIET.
All students are expected to take meals provided by the school which is a well balanced diet.
No special meal will be provided to any student.
Students are not allowed to carry food from outside or buy food items over the fence.
CONSEQUENCE
N/B Goods including food stuffs can only be purchased from the school canteen
BOUNDS
Students are expected to be at the right place at the right time doing the correct thing.
The following places are listed as out of bounds for learners.
N/B:
KINDLY TAKE THAT ALL CASES THAT REQUIRE THE HEARING OF THE DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE WILL ONLY COMMENCE UPON;
1. Clearance of fee balances for the term
2. Bringing the required property as stated in the rule contravened.
